Silent Growth
- 1718 Construction of the first living quarters and
- 1732 Construction of the convent church
The building activity shows us the growth and consolidation of the community.
Turbulence
- 1799 During the confusion of the French Revolution, the sisters have to leave the convent. They flee into the mountains: onto the Simplon Pass and even into neighbouring Italy
- 1800 The community is reunited and rebuilds their work.
- 1848 Further difficulties arise after the end of the "Sonderbund" War (a civil war). All ecclesiastical property is seized for civil use and the number of sisters is reduced. But in the year
- 1853 the State Valais delegates the training of primary school teachers to the sisters.
Beyond Brig
- 1868 An orphanage in Sion is taken over. Already in 1884 Sion becomes independent.
- 1924 A domestic science school of further education in Visp is started.
